Can a sweet treat really be healthy?

One of the things that really makes this Mama smile is opening up her mailbox to find a little box, I love samples! Yesterday I was pleasantly surprised to find a small triangular box sitting on top of stack of envelopes. A little green gift just for me!

During today's afternoon lull was the perfect time to try what was inside. Kashi sent me a sample of their Dark Chocolate Coconut TLC bar. I am a big fan of chocolate and coconut together, but will be honest that I was skeptical of a "healthy version" of the combo. The first bite proved me wrong, there was nothing "healthy" tasting about it in my opinion.
A thick layer of soft dark chocolate topped with coconut covered a sweet, chewy granola bar.

The TLC description of "tasty little chewies" was right on! I was halfway through devouring the bar when I saw "fruit and grain" on the wrapper and was curious, I didn't see or taste anything that resembled fruit. I took a peek at the back of the wrapper. I was shocked to see dates as the second ingredient on the list, they did a great job sneaking that one in there! With 4 grams of fiber as well as 4 grams of protein this was the perfect snack to satisfy my sweet tooth without any guilt. It is also reassuring to know that they are free from high fructose corn syrup, artificial flavors and preservatives. I am thrilled that there is a $1.00 off coupon inside my little green (recyclable of course) box, because I plan on picking up a box of these little sweeties during my next trip to the store! You can get your own coupon by checking out the TLC bars on the Kashi site.

Kashi has lots of great tips on their website including recipes, product information, and "lifestyle tools" to get you moving into a healthier 2010. You can even get your own sample of GOLEAN Crisp!™ Toasted Berry Crumble or GOLEAN Crunch!® Honey Almond Flax cereal HERE.
Here's to eating healthy in a delicious way!

Diaper Cake

I received the most adorable baby gift this past week from a friend of mine, it was a three-tiered diaper cake!

These gifts have become more popular over the years, if you attend many baby showers you know what I mean. It is a creative way to assemble a gift full of the essentials that mommy-to-be will need. The presentation is beautiful and as I looked further I was amazed at all that was inside. My cake's "ingredients" included 26 diapers, receiving blanket, hooded bath towel, 5 onesies, head band, prayer bear, 20oz baby shampoo. It looks so sweet all stacked up that I don't want to take it apart to get to all the goodies! It will stay in my nursery for a bit longer before I am willing to disassemble it. This cake is from a company called Inedible Favors. It turns out these aren't just for baby showers any more. The designer, Courtney, makes them for all occasions including housewarming, potty training, Christmas, teachers gifts and more! As Courtney says "it's like unwrapping a gift without the wrapping paper mess." She is willing to make just about anything and will design to fit any theme.
Check out her site today and let her whip up a delicious treat for someone you love!

Ready, Set, Blog!

I am so excited to be getting this blog started! I can't wait to start sharing great information with you about the many amazing products that are out there to help make mama's life a bit easier. It seems every time I have a baby the amount of new gadgets they have invented in the few years between kids is incredible. I do a lot of "why didn't I think of that!" Well, even if I didn't think of it I want to share it with YOU, so let's get going!
I am the mother of three, soon to be four! My three sons are getting  a baby sister in a few weeks. The world of pink is so new to me, but oh so fun! I can't wait to try new products that weren't even thought of eight years ago when I had my first baby.

Thank you for joining me!
